MUVE (Mixed-reality Urban Visionary Experience) is an immersive XR platform designed to empower users to express themselves emotionally through movement, environment, and sound. Built during the Immerse the Bay Hackathon at Stanford University, MUVE won “Most Creative” in the Creative Zenith track for its innovative integration of AI, music, spatial computing, and emotional design. Users begin by choosing a virtual environment, selecting a natural element (like water, fire, or wind), and pairing it with a song from their favorite artist. Once inside the immersive space, they control the world using gestures, movement, and rhythm, emitting particles and effects that reflect their emotional state. MUVE is not just a game or an interaction system, it’s an emotional outlet, blending mental health support, immersive storytelling, and joyful digital expression.

Goal
The goal of MUVE was to design a digital sanctuary where people could move, play, have fun, and express their inner emotions through immersive interaction.
We focused on:
Encouraging emotional expression through music-based movement
Allowing users to shape their world by pairing elements and songs
Supporting mental wellness through joyful, flow-state gameplay
Exploring how XR can support therapeutic play and digital creativity
MUVE was also designed with video games, performance art, and emotional education in mind—bridging the gap between creative self-expression and interactive future tech.
