/// The concept behind Spectacles and Beyond is to use AR glasses as a living laboratory for rapid prototyping. From dinosaurs roaming city streets, to wizard cats guiding you through mystical journeys, to multiplayer ping-pong battles with blob like creatures / the goal is to push boundaries and explore how AR can shape future modes of entertainment, learning, and expression.
///
Prototyped multiple interactive AR experiences using Lens Studio, Spectacles SDK, and custom scripting.
Designed dynamic, responsive interactions like scaling toy car models into full-size futuristic vehicles or creating audio-reactive worlds.
Iterated on gameplay mechanics, from physics-based ping pong to environmental storytelling.
Documented usability challenges, performance constraints, and moments of delight in early user testing.
/// AR glasses are still in early development, with limited public exposure and unproven use cases. Many users (and designers) struggle to imagine meaningful interactions beyond filters or overlays. The challenge is to prototype experiences that prove AR’s potential for fun, functionality, and future adoption.
/// By building diverse AR prototypes — from playful dinosaur encounters to interactive narrative worlds — Spectacles and Beyond demonstrates how immersive storytelling and gameplay can anchor AR’s future. These prototypes serve as both research artifacts and experience case studies, showing that AR wearables can enhance creativity, self-expression, and exploration in everyday life.
